Connect to Claude
This page covers both Claude.ai (web and mobile) and Claude Desktop. The connector UI is identical on both surfaces, and a connector added in one shows up in the other — you only need to add Syntropic once per Claude account.
Option A — From the Claude connector directory (after publication)
The fastest path is to install Syntropic from Claude's built-in connector directory.
- Open Settings → Connectors in Claude.ai or Claude Desktop.
- Search for Syntropic.
- Click Connect.
- Sign in to Syntropic when the browser window opens.
Syntropic is not currently listed in the Claude connector directory. Use Option B below until the listing is published. The underlying server and authentication flow are the same, so existing custom-connector users will not need to change how Syntropic works.
Option B — As a custom connector
This works today, from any Claude plan that supports connectors.
1. Open the connectors page
In Claude.ai or Claude Desktop, go to Settings → Connectors.
2. Add a custom connector
Click Add custom connector and enter:
- Name:
Syntropic - Remote MCP server URL:
https://mcp.getsyntropic.com/mcp
Leave the Advanced settings (OAuth Client ID / Secret) blank — Syntropic handles authentication automatically.
Click Add.
3. Sign in to Syntropic
The first time you use Syntropic in a conversation, Claude opens a browser window for the Syntropic sign-in flow. Sign in with your email and password, continue with Google, or use your organization's SSO if you're on an Enterprise workspace.
Once you approve, the tab closes automatically and Claude returns to the chat with the connector ready to use.
Try it out
Start a new chat, make sure the Syntropic connector is toggled on in the connector menu below the message box, and ask:
"List my Syntropic workspaces."
"Show me the first 20 rows of the
product_catalogtable."
"Add a new row to
pricing_overrideswith skuABC-123and price49.99."
When Claude reads a table, you'll see it rendered as an interactive grid directly in the chat. See the MCP App page for details on what the viewer supports.
Reconnecting or removing
From Settings → Connectors, you can:
- Sign in again — useful if your session has expired (you'll see a
reauth requirederror). - Disconnect — removes Syntropic's access. You can reconnect at any time.
