Connect to ChatGPT

Syntropic connects to ChatGPT through its hosted MCP server. You sign in with your normal Syntropic account, and every tool call uses the same workspace roles and permissions as the web app.

Install from the app directory​

After Syntropic's public plugin listing is published, open ChatGPT's app directory, search for Syntropic, select it, and choose Connect. ChatGPT will open the Syntropic OAuth sign-in flow the first time you use it.

If Syntropic does not appear in search yet, the public listing has not been published for your account or region. Developers and workspace administrators can use the setup below in the meantime.

Connect before the public listing is available​

ChatGPT's developer mode lets eligible accounts install the same production MCP server directly:

  1. Open ChatGPT Settings, then Apps & Connectors.

  2. Enable Developer mode for your account or workspace.

  3. Create a connector named Syntropic.

  4. Enter this remote MCP server URL:

    https://mcp.getsyntropic.com/mcp

  5. Save the connector and complete the Syntropic sign-in flow when prompted.

No API key, OAuth client ID, or client secret is required. Syntropic publishes OAuth discovery metadata and ChatGPT registers as a client dynamically.

Try it​

Start with a read-only prompt:

Show me the Syntropic workspaces and tables I can access.

Then open a table:

Open my inventory control table and summarize its latest changes.

On supported ChatGPT surfaces, table reads render in the interactive Syntropic grid. See Interactive table viewer for its editing, filtering, bulk import, and approval behavior.

Permissions and writes​

ChatGPT can only access resources your signed-in Syntropic user can access. Syntropic approval workflows remain active, so a write may be submitted as a pending change instead of being applied immediately. ChatGPT plan and workspace policies may also restrict write-capable tools.
